Karen Hussey

About

Karen Hussey is Deputy Director of the Global Change Institute at the University Queensland. Trained as a political scientist and economist, Karen’s research is in the area of public policy and governance, particularly relating to sustainable development. Karen has led or been involved in 14 research grants in the last decade and has authored or co-authored over 70 publications in the area of water and energy security, the role of the state in climate change mitigation and adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and international trade.

Karen leads UQ’s Global Change Scholars program, supervises ten PhD students and sits on a number of boards and scientific steering committees.
