Noosa Biosphere Reserve - A celebration of community and environment.

Alison Foley

Board Director

Ali brings an exceptional blend of environmental advocacy, academic expertise, and diverse industry experience to the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation Board.

As the founder of Ten Little Pieces, she has (so far) inspired over 12,000 students in environmental stewardship and has led the grassroots movement from Noosa Main Beach to global audiences and acclaim. She facilitated stakeholder communications during the White Spill Disaster and co-authored the resultant emergency response methodology for which she was honoured with the Noosa Biosphere Award for Water in 2023.

Her qualifications in international business, marketing, psychology, sustainable tourism, education, and marine plastics enrich her approach to sustainable development initiatives. Ali’s experience spans network development, fundraising, stakeholder management, international maritime and aviation industries, all underscored by her love for the ocean.

She advocates for best practices in responsible tourism, positioning the Noosa Biosphere as a world leader and “living lab” in sustainability. Her work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, fostering a thriving community, resilient circular economy and ecosystem conservation and enjoyment.
