Join us for a community dune recovery revegetation planting morning and help restore areas of the coastline impacted by erosion, foot traffic and recreational activity.
Healthy dunes are one of our most important natural coastal defence systems. They help protect beaches from storm damage and erosion while providing valuable habitat for native wildlife, including the colourful Rainbow Bee-eater, which nests within coastal dune systems.
This hands-on community event offers an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and resilience of our coastline by planting native dune vegetation that will help stabilise sand, improve habitat and support long-term dune recovery.
Participants will also learn simple ways they can help protect coastal ecosystems, including:
• Staying on designated beach access tracks
• Avoiding walking, digging or playing in sensitive dune areas
• Keeping off steep sand cliffs and dune fronts
• Protecting native dune vegetation from trampling
Whether you’re a local resident, beach lover, conservation volunteer or simply looking for a rewarding way to spend the morning outdoors, your help will make a real difference.
Please bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle. All planting equipment, gloves and a light morning tea will be provided.
