Give a Sheet® Textile Recovery Day

Drop off your worn-out and unwanted sheets, towels, pillowcases, table clothes, doona covers and linen and contribute to our circular economy.

Give a Sheet® returns to Noosa for a 3rd year! Did you know, approximately 600 kgs of textiles are discarded in Australian landfills every 10 minutes? To address the growing textile waste problem, Noosa Council has teamed up with BlockTexx to create a community event to give your old linen a second chance at life.

On 16 November at The J parking lot in Noosa Heads, households and businesses can drop off their worn-out sheets, towels, pillowcases, tablecloths, doona covers and linen that is no longer wanted or usable.

BlockTexx converts the donated material into valuable, high-grade materials that Australian manufacturers can use to create new products such as hydro-mulch, shopping baskets and geosynthetic fabrics.

Want to see what’s possible?  Watch this short video on the park regeneration project in Logan using hydro-mulch made from re-repurposed cotton textiles collected at a similar event. Noosa Council will be exploring something similar here.

Learn more about BlockTexx and how they’re working to turn fast fashion and pre-loved linens circular from these talks with Co-Founder Adrian Jones.

Help contribute to the circular economy and RSVP to the Give a Sheet® Facebook event here.

See you on Saturday 16 November, 9 am to 2 pm, The J Noosa parking lot, 60 Noosa Heads Dr
