Friday Environment Forum: Family Turtle Workshop

Bring the family along for a fun, hands-on school holiday workshop exploring local sea turtles, their incredible nesting journeys and how we can all help protect them and their coastal habitat.

Want to become a turtle hero these school holidays? 🐢

Bring the whole family along to a special Friday Environment Forum Family Turtle Workshop and discover the fascinating world of sea turtles living and nesting along our local coastline.

Join Colin and Leonie, volunteers from Coolum and North Shore Coast Care, for an engaging and family-friendly introduction to our local sea turtles and the important conservation work helping to protect them.

Learn about the sea turtles that visit our beaches, their incredible nesting journeys and the challenges they face throughout their lives. Drawing on their practical experience monitoring and protecting nesting turtles, Colin and Leonie will share stories and insights from their work caring for turtles, beaches and the wider coastal environment.

Through hands-on activities, families will discover how volunteers and the wider community can help protect these remarkable animals. The workshop will also explore why healthy beaches and dunes are so important for nesting turtles and other coastal wildlife.

Perfect for families, young nature lovers and anyone curious about our marine environment, this school holiday workshop is a great opportunity to learn more about sea turtle conservation and discover simple ways we can all help give turtles the best chance of survival.
