Noosa Biosphere Reserve - A celebration of community and environment.

Bioregions Educational Resource and Biocultural Leadership

Project Overview

The Noosa Environmental Education Hub has been working within schools since 2019 to raise awareness about our local ecosystems and help connect students through their essential curriculum.

The work they have performed in schools has shown that there is a low understanding of the Noosa Biosphere and the ecosystems which comprise it.

This project will provide an Australian Curriculum 9.0 aligned education resource for schools to raise awareness of the Biosphere Regions and the work of the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation. The resource is designed to promote community awareness and behaviour change. Through this project, The Noosa Environmental Education Hub engenders the next generation of environmental custodians under the Custodians of Place ideology by linking schools to real-life projects and creating curriculum resources around environmental conservation in the Noosa Shire.

Each year they also hold a Custodians of Place Youth Climate Conference which brings students together to share sustainability and reconciliation ideas.
