“I have a deep personal connection to the Noosa Shire and am excited by the opportunity to support the Foundation in its mission to promote sustainable living and advance conservation and sustainability education,” said Ms Macklin.
Ms Macklin will work alongside a committed Board of volunteer directors, including newly appointed Treasurer Nimish Kulkarni and Deputy Chair and Secretary, John McCann to help deliver projects that align with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. These include initiatives such as Blue Biosphere, Koala Guardians, and the BioRegions schools resource kit, developed in partnership with the University of the Sunshine Coast and the Noosa Environmental Education Hub.
Chair Fiona Berkin said, “We’re thrilled to have Anna join our team. Her leadership and experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to drive impact and secure vital funding for projects that benefit both our people and the environment.”
The Foundation recently negotiated a revised partnership agreement with Noosa Council for the next four years. The revised agreement provides increased clarity on the obligations of both parties in the overall management of the UNESCO biosphere reserve program.
