About the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation
The Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation celebrates our UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status by engaging, inspiring and facilitating partners and community to promote a balance between people and nature.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, established by Noosa Council in 2015, to progress the global aims of the UNESCO Man and Biosphere (MAB) Program in the Noosa Biosphere Reserve (the Noosa Shire).
Run by a skills-based volunteer Board of Directors, our role as Noosa’s ambassador for our global biosphere reserve status, is to inspire and facilitate new research and projects that enhance biodiversity and promotes sustainable living in the Noosa region.
Our vision is for the Noosa Biosphere Reserve to be increasingly valued as living proof that by respecting Country and living in harmony with nature, we inspire happy, healthy, thriving communities.
The Noosa Biosphere Reserve will be a place which demonstrates how people can live in harmony with nature. Where this experience is increasingly valued by locals and visitors, supporting vibrant local industries to achieve a smart balance of people and nature.
Our vision and purpose guides us towards the impact we seek to make, which is to support our Noosa Biosphere community to be one that is liveable, smart, green, happy and healthy.
